Commander’s Corner
Welcome to DAV Chapter 240. It is our honor to serve veterans, their families, and survivors through advocacy, service, and community engagement. Together, we remain committed to ensuring every veteran receives the support, respect, and resources they have earned through their service to our nation.
6th Annual Veterans Resource Fair Highlights
I am truly grateful to our L/CSOs, Chapter 240 members, Hospitality Team, volunteers, Cedar Hill ROTC, and community partnersβthe City of Cedar Hill, CNZ Design, 1846 Coffee, and Chiro Factoryβfor coming together to make our sixth annual Resource Fair a success on September 26 at the Cedar Hill Recreation Center.
Your time, energy, and willingness to serve made a meaningful difference for the veterans and families who attended. I also want to personally thank the Sr. Vice Commander of the State of Texas, our 1st Jr. Vice Commander, Ramona Ross-Bacon, and Sr. Vice Commander Debra Carroll for their steady leadership and dedication throughout the event.
The positive feedback from State Commander Luis Cortes, veterans, families, and city officials was a powerful reminder of what we can accomplish when we work together. Even when minor hurdles arose, our team responded quickly and demonstrated the care, professionalism, and commitment that make Chapter 240 so special.

As we transition from a successful summer into the fall season, the Cedar Hill DAV Chapter #240 Chaplains remain prayerful for a time of unity and gratitude. Our 6th Annual Veterans Resource Fair was a tremendous success, with 194 claims prepared. We are grateful for the support of fellow chapters across Texas, which answered our prayers and made this event possible.
The DAV 240 Chaplains and Bereavement Team also had the privilege of serving breakfast to over 100 veterans and their families at the Resource Fair. As Chaplains, our mission is to provide the ministry of βPresenceββstanding faithfully with veterans and their loved ones through every season of life.

Our Veterans Breakfast was about more than great food and fellowship. We had an incredible group of speakers who poured valuable information, insight, and resources into our veterans.
They answered questions, shared knowledge, and made sure our veterans walked away better informed and more… connected.
We came hungry, and left FULL in more ways than one!
