THE 240 CONNECTION
“One Community. One Mission. Stronger Together.”

With purpose and a commitment to service, we listen, connect, and create meaningful pathways to resources that strengthen veterans, families, and our community
Community outreach has always been an essential part of the mission of Disabled American Veterans (DAV), and Cedar Hill DAV Chapter 240 is committed to carrying that mission beyond the chapter and into the community.
As Chapter 240 developed its Comprehensive Strategic Plan, the chapter focused on aligning its outreach efforts with the mission and priorities of DAV at the National, State, and local levels.
Through intentional canvassing of our chapter, the surrounding community, the City, and the school district, we listened, engaged, and identified resources that were important to the people and organizations we serve.
This outreach effort helped Chapter 240 better understand the needs of its community and strengthened its commitment to building meaningful connections, creating partnerships, and connecting veterans and families with valuable resources.

Women Veterans Coalition
This is a powerful community of connection, advocacy, and support dedicated to ensuring that women who have served our nation are seen, heard, respected, and valued. Through outreach, mentorship, education, collaboration, and advocacy, the Coalition works to connect women veterans and their families with meaningful resources—including benefits, healthcare, mental health support, employment, education, housing, and community services—while identifying barriers and creating solutions that reflect their unique experiences. Above all, the Coalition stands as a collective voice for women who have served, reminding every woman veteran that her service matters, her voice has power, her experiences have value, and she never has to navigate her journey alone.

Governance, Advocacy & Veteran Support
At Cedar Hill DAV Chapter 240, these three committees work together to strengthen our organization and advance our commitment to veterans and their families. The Resolutions Committee gives members a structured pathway to raise concerns, develop thoughtful solutions, and turn important issues into constructive advocacy. The Chapter Service Officers Committee connects veterans and their families with the benefits, services, and resources they have earned while ensuring they receive compassionate guidance and advocacy throughout the process. The Constitution and Bylaws Committee protects the integrity of the Chapter by supporting sound governance, accountability, due process, and alignment with DAV governing documents and policies. Together, these committees help ensure that voices are heard, veterans are supported, and Chapter 240 remains accountable to its mission and the people it serves.

THE HEART OF SERVICE
Where Compassion Meets Community
The Bereavement and Chaplain Committees provide compassionate support to veterans, families, and members of our community during times when care and understanding are needed most. The Bereavement Committee responds to requests for support following a loss, while the Chaplain Committee provides spiritual and moral support in a respectful, nonsectarian manner that honors all faiths and individual beliefs. Together, these committees offer a caring presence, comfort, encouragement, and support to those navigating difficult moments.
